POTTER: Barry Douglas Potter April 23, 1942 August 18, 2009. Barry passed away suddenly on August 18, 2009 at the age of 67. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 41 years. He is also survived by his brothers: Charles (Joyce) Potter of Ottawa, ON, Bill (Carol) of Winnipeg, MB, and Frank Potter of Calgary, AB; his sister Susan Cross of Pentiction, B.C. He is also survived by his brother -in-law, Ken (Vivian) Phillips of N. Vancouver, B.C.; sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Fred) Shiloff of Qualicum Beach, B.C. and Mary (Allan Pow) Myers of Regina, SK; also numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Barry was predeceased by his parents, Charles Potter and Elizabeth Kenler; step-father, Tony Kenler; and his in-laws, John and Millie Phillips. Barry was born on April 23, 1942 in Brandon, MB and spent his childhood there. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces and had a successful career as a Medical Assistant. Barry and Barb were married at Brandon, MB in 1968. There lives together took them to his postings at Ottawa, ON, Petawawa, ON, Shilo and Winnipeg, MB. Barry also carried out Peacekeeping duties in Cypress and Egypt. Upon their retirement, Barry and Barb moved to Virden, MB where they spent 11 enjoyable years. In 2008, they moved to Regina to be closer to family. He will be sadly missed by all those close to him. Prayers will be held at the Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Ave., Regina, SK on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Thomas Nguyen, Celebrant.
