FREDERICKSON: Elizabeth Mary (Betty) Frederickson 1920 – 2009. Betty Frederickson of Carberry, Manitoba, formerly of Grand Forks, B.C. & Baldur, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 6, 2009 at the Carberry Heath Centre at the age of 89 years. Betty was born on August 27, 1920 near Cypress River, Manitoba to Bill and Annie Wood. She lived in the Cypress River area until she and her husband Joe moved their young family to Baldur, Manitoba. Joe passed away in 1962. Betty stayed in Baldur until 1968 when she moved to Brandon. After a couple of years she, the younger children and her partner Bob Blakely moved to Grand Forks, B.C. Betty was a homemaker and stay- at- home Mom. She liked working in her garden and was a wonderful baker. Her family always came first with her. In 2002 while vacationing in Carberry she had a massive heart attack. She was transferred to Winnipeg where she had a triple by-pass operation. After several months of recuperating Betty decided to remain in Carberry, and made her home at the Carberry Plains Lodge. She enjoyed her time there and the friendship of her neighbors. We want to thank the excellent Home Care Staff. It was with their help that Betty was able to remain in her home until August 2009 when she was admitted to the Carberry Hospital. The family also appreciates the care given to her by the Doctors and staff while in hospital. Left to mourn her are: Four sons; Bob (Eileen) of Grand Forks, B.C.
