GWILT: Olive Florence Gwilt of Brandon, Manitoba passed away September 8, 2009 at the Assiniboine Health Centre at the age of 72 years. Olive was born Olive Florence Lough on December 27, 1936 in the town of Eden, Manitoba. Olive loved creating things with her hands. She spent much of her time crocheting, knitting and crafting. In her later years, Olive developed a passion for Nascar racing and spent many a weekend in front of the television cheering on her favorite driver, Tony Stewart. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Olive lived for her children and grandchildren. We love you, we miss you and you will remain forever in our hearts.The family also wishes to give thanks to the care givers in Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion. She was predeceased by mother, Elsie Lough, father Russell Lough, brother Cliff Lough. She is survived by her husband Gordon Gwilt, three sons, Blair (Marlou) children Dani and Dakota; Daryl (Lori) children Ben and Erin; Kevin (Pam) children Austin and Bryden; Barb Lacy (Greg) and daughter Ashley are dear friends who Olive considered as family; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Kruzer, Shirley Crabbe, and Ellen Lough. The funeral service was held September 11, 2009 from White’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alan Armstrong officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, Manitoba. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
