THOMPSON: Angela Caroline Thompson, age 83, of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Victoria General Hospital. She was predeceased by her mother, Anne, and her brother, Peter. She will be sadly missed by family, friends and former students. She was born in Brandon, Manitoba on July 3, 1926. Her education included the University of Brandon, University of Manitoba, and the Toronto Conservatory of Music. Her teaching career took her to Hamiota, East Kildonan Collegiate, Lord Selkirk Collegiate, Clifton, Isaac Brock and Miles MacDonnell. As well as teaching regular and gifted classes, she taught French, Music, and Physical Education. Being an accomplished pianist, she played at many school events. She entertained seniors as part of the Melody Makers band. Angela was an avid sports fan and also participated in many sports. Most summers were spent traveling. Prayers will take place at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon, MB on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Ghost, 59-11th Street North, Brandon, MB on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with The Very Reverend Father Michael Skrumeda officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Thank you to the Victoria Hospital staff on 4 South, in particular Dr. Goulet, Carol, Greg, and Hina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 2E8.
