WILLAUER: 1950-2009. Willauer (Ramsay), Phyllis Jeanne passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Rimbey Care Center in Rimbey. She was born on March 20, 1950 in Brandon, Manitoba the oldest child of John and Esther Ramsay. Phyllis was raised on a farm at Brookdale, Manitoba and completed her grade 11 at the local school. From 1967 to 1969 she attended Canadian Union College in College Heights, Alberta completing her grade 12 and first year of college. From there she attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Secretarial Science and a minor in Home economics in 1972. After graduating from college, Phyllis moved to mission, British Columbia to work for the Seventh-day Adventist Conference Office as Secretary to the President. From 1972 until 1990 when she was married, Phyllis held about eight different jobs in the Abbotsford area, Calgary, Burnaby and Seattle. Her jobs were in the secretarial and later in the accounting area. Phyllis worked for firms that ranged from IMB to Zen and Aquilini. While living in Seattle Phyllis met Bob Willauer from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. On October 7 1990 they were married and Phyllis returned to Canada. Here she quickly adapted to her life with Bob and his three teenage children. Her first job while back in Canada was for Dr. T.J. Layden at the Aspen Dental Clinic. In 1996 Bob and Phyllis began to winter in Arizona where Phyllis provided accounting services for Ag Management Services on a part-time basis. Upon Returning to Canada during the summer months she would continue to work for them form a distance until early 2009. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with friends and family, sewing, traveling and camping in their fifth wheel trailer. Many road trips were made visiting family and friends in the U.S, Saipan and Canada. She also made a two-month trip to Europe and honeymooned on the Cook Island. Phyllis was predeceased by her mother Esther Ramsay in 2006. She is survived by her husband Bob Willauer, her father John Ramsay, Mother-in-law Sarah Willauer, her step- children, Eric (Debbie) Willauer, Mark (Tracey) Willauer, Shelley (Peter) Szekeres; sisters Pat (Jim) Selman, Judy Ramsay (Special friend Charles Partridge), and brothers Bob (Marty) Ramsay, Bruce (Estelle) Ramsay; Grandchildren Tristen, Liam, Kaelan Willauer, Andrea and William Szekeres; Nieces Carlene Ramsay and Michelle Jutrasl Nephews Shaun, Scott, Matt and Greg Ramsay; Great nieces and nephews Lauren, Matt and Kurt Jutras, Darren, Chloe, Alaina, Mirille , and Gavin Ramsay. Phyllis will always be remembered for her wonderful zest of life, her generous and caring ways and her love of family and friends. Funeral Service was held at the Sylvan Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church at 11:00 a.m. on October 14, 2009. Internment took place at the Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa, Manitoba on October 16 at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Rocky Home Care, West Country Family Services, Rimbey Care Center and church members and friends for the excellent nursing care they gave Phyllis during her illness. Also thank-you for all the visits, prayers, cards and phone calls received during this difficult time.
