MILLIONS: September 26th, 1927 October 24th, 2009. John Lloyd Jack Millions was born September 26th, 1927 in Brandon, Manitoba. Jack, as he liked to be called, was the son of Leslie James and Amanda Charlotta. The family resided at SE 17-1-25 in Brenda Municipality, 5 miles southeast of Waskada. Jack and his sister Lucille were the best of friends growing up on the farm and that friendship was evident as they progressed in adulthood. Jack was always fond of sports particularly baseball and hockey and he enthusiastically followed sporting activities his entire life. He also loved the farm and farming life. After meeting Kathleen Dorothy Nicol they married July 19th, 1952, and settled at his parents farm for the interim. Jack and Lynn were the proud parents of two children, Faye Marie born July 21st, 1957 and Roger James born May 26th, 1959. A strong community member Jack was an ardent supporter of Waskada and Brenda Municipality. Jack drove a school bus for a quarter century and delivered hundreds of students to Waskada School. When he wasnt farming and toting children to class he served as a municipal counselor. Sacrificing himself to help others was as important to him as anything else. Jack and Lynn moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2001 to retire and remain closer to their children and five grandchildren - Faye (Robby, Amanda and Shelby) and husband Larry Eberle; Roger, wife Diane, and their children (Cole and Katlynn). Jack will be remembered for his friendly demeanor and hearty laugh. His kindness to others and generosity were as much a priority as his genuine love for his family. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 30th at 1:00 p.m. at the Waskada Cemetery, Waskada, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
