ENGLISH: Nell (nee Hutton), 1921 – 2009. Mom passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 21, 2009 at River Park Gardens. She leaves to mourn her daughter Beverley (David) McLellan, granddaughters Meghan and Ashleigh as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Erven in 1979, her brother-in-law, Jim English (2007) and sister-in-law, Frances English (2009). Mom was the last surviving member of her family. Born in Clanwilliam, Manitoba, she grew up on the family farm with her three brothers; George, Charles (King), John and two sisters; Agnes and May. Mom and Dad were married n 1947. Early years of marriage were spent in Brandon, MB where many life-long friendships were established. In 1959 they moved to Winnipeg and lived on Wallasey Street where they enjoyed many good times with wonderful neighbours. Winter holidays with her late friend, Georgie Thompson and summers spent at her cabin at Clear Lake brought her such enjoyment. Mom will best be remembered for her excellent cooking, her love of decorating her home, for welcoming friends and family when they would visit, and for her wonderful sense of humour. Mom's greatest source of pride and joy were her granddaughters. "Gramme" played an important role in their lives. Mom was fortunate to have many good friends, and in particular, her dear friend May Johnston. May's care, support and devotion to mom will always be cherished by family. We would like to thank the staff at River Park Gardens who took wonderful care of mom over the past two years. A private family service has been held. We hope all who knew her will cherish the many wonderful memories you have of her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. “Together With Dad Again”Chapel Lawn 885-9715.
