FOSTER: Desmond RalphBorn August 1, 1931, passed away at Royal Columbian Hospital on November 8, 2009 at 78 years of age. Born in Carberry, MB, the second son of Albert and Dorothy, living in several small towns in Southern Manitoba, moving to Alberta in 1959, and finally to Coquitlam, British Columbia in 1965 where he worked at Royal Columbian Hospital, Eaton’s, and Canadian Freightways. Left to mourn his loss are his beloved wife of 53 years, Isobel; daughters Patti (Bill) Hanley, Sherry (Win) Aust; grandchildren Kyle and Nick Kortegaard and Lindy and Carlee Aust; sisters Connie Oakes of Vancouver, British Columbia, Betty (Frank) Southern of Penticton, British Columbia, Eileen (Ron) Schott of Kenora, Ontario; and brother Ron (Penny) of Brandon, Manitoba. Des was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ulster Association. He loved cars, beer, country music and was so very proud of his family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12th at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam.
