CLELLAND: Violet Roseline Clelland passed away peacefully at the Bren-Del-Win Lodge in Deloraine on November 25, 2009. Vi was born on September 21, 1920 to parents William and Cecilia Beedie in the R. M. of Winchester. Vi was raised on the family farm in the Hazeldean area. She married Ed Clelland on August 1, 1940. Ed and Vi settled in the Grove district until the family moved to Deloraine in 1955. Vi’s interests included music, gardening, following the local sports teams (especially when her sons were involved) and being a valued member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary. Vi truly enjoyed her last nine years as a resident of Bren-Del-Win Lodge thanks to the caring staff. Vi was predeceased by her husband Ed, her son Allan, her parents William and Cecilia and her brother Bill. She is survived by her sister Robina, brother Jim, hers sons: Roy (Karen), Bob (Kathy) and Gary (Debbie), grandchildren: Carla (Craig), Monica, Darcy (Claire), Julie (Rob), Tara (Jared), Krista (Lorin), Jason (Katie), great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Lucas, Carson and Colton and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Vi’s life was held on Monday, November 20, 2009 at Smith’s Funeral Home Chapel in Deloraine, Manitoba with Reverend Jeri Byornson officiating. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #83 Auxiliary, Deloraine, Manitoba.
