COOPER: Mary Harriet Cooper of Glenboro, Manitoba, formerly of Basswood and Minnedosa, passed away peacefully at the Glenboro District Hospital at the age of 84 years. Mary was born in the Basswood area on March 19, 1925, the 3rd daughter of Charles and Mary Cooper. She received her education at the Basswood School. She farmed with her brother Tom until his death in 1964, at which time she moved to Minnedosa where she worked and cared for her mother until her death. Mary worked in Brandon at various jobs until her retirement. In 2003 she moved from her home in Minnedosa to live at Glen Haven Manor in Glenboro until her passing on December 31, 2009. She leaves to mourn her sister-in-law Edna Cooper Gibbons and husband Jack of Minnedosa, nephews Wes (Erica) of Regina, Gerald (Linda), David (Cheryl), both of Minnedosa, Edward (Kim) of Consort Alta., Jim (Kim) of Winnipeg, John Whitmore of Glenboro and niece Sheila (Ellis) Drinkwater of Glenboro, nine great nephews, three great nieces and two great great nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents Charles (1955) and Mary (1967), brothers Tom (1964), Alex (1996), Harry (2003) & George (1987); sisters Edith Whitmore (2001), Margaret Hayes (1996), Irene Murray (1998); sister-in-law Ady Cooper, brothers-in-law John Whitmore (1967), Jack Hayes (1979) and Bill Murray (1993). As per Marys request, a graveside service for family only will be held at a later date.
