SIMPKIN: Eleanor Marion- July 2, 1938 – December 18, 2009. Former Brandon resident, Eleanor Simpkin, unexpectedly passed away peacefully at home in Kingston, Onatrio on Friday, December 18, 2009. Loving mother to Karen Matheson and husband Murray (Kingston, Ontario), Sharen McDowall and husband Murray (Kenora, Ontario) and Glenn Simpkin and wife Angela (Naples, Italy). Cherished grandmother to Kristine McGrath and husband Paul, Stuart Matheson, Andrew Matheson, Stephanie McDowall, Gillian Simpkin and Joseline Simpkin. Great–Grandmother to Abaigeal McGrath. Lovingly remembered by her brother William Orr and wife Gwen and by many nieces and nephews. Eleanor is predeceased by her parents William and Agnes Orr and husband of 24 years Walter Simpkin, brother in-law Gordon, sister in-law Ivy and mother in-law Vera Simpkin. Eleanor spent three years in the Canadian Forces and 21 years employed with the Brandon City Police. She volunteered her time and energy generously to many organizations and community events. She will be remember always and forever in our hearts. Services were held at Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 49 Colborne Street, Kingston, on Tuesday, December 22.
