CAMERON: Violet Frances Cameron (Burnash). Peacefully on January 15, 2010, Vi passed away at Brandon General Hospital at the age of 83. She was born on September 30, 1926 to Joseph and Mary Burnash, at Medora, MB. When she was 7, her family moved to greener pastures in the Stoney Creek district west of Neepawa. Vi took her schooling at Stoney Creek school and Neepawa Collegiate. Then she worked at the Bank of Montreal before marrying the boy next door, Nathan Cameron. Vi and Nathan raised five children on the banks of the Stoney Creek before moving to Shilo in 1975. They then retired to Brandon in 1982. Vi was everyones friend and had friends all over the world. She loved to spend time with family, travel, play cards and go on the odd trip to the casino. Vi was predeceased by her parents, her husband and daughter Jo Ann. Three brothers (Don, Bernard and Jim Burnash), one sister (Rose Arbuckle), brothers-in-law (Grant Andrews, Grant Arbuckle, Frank McDonald, Fred Elves and Charlie Cameron) also predeceased her. Vi is mourned by her children Diane Hutchison, David (Ivy) Cameron, Rita (Barry) Levandosky and Vicki (Tom) Coelho and grandchildren Darryn, Tanya, and Rob Cameron, Tina (Jim) Turner, and Tori Cameron-Villett. She is also survived by her very precious, first great-grandchild, Mae Turner. Her sisters Pearl Elves, Ruby Andrews and sisters- in-law Margaret Cameron and Mabel McDonald also survive her. Vi will also be missed by nieces, nephews and many special friends. Funeral services were held at St. Dominics Catholic Church, Neepawa, MB, on Thursday, January 21, 2010, followed by interment in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Darryn and Rob Cameron, Jim Turner, Barry Levandosky, Tom Coelho and Brian Ellis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Parkinsons Foundation. Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa ~ Carberry was in charge of arrangements.
