WILSON: George Alvin (Al) beloved husband, Dad and Grandpa passed away in the Souris Hospital Friday Jan 29th, 2010 at the age of 82. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years Pat,son Bruce (Georgina), son David (Kathy), stepchildren Julie, Steve (Angie) Kathy (Gary), Bruce (Gail) Sally, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Elsa. Al was pre-deceased by Daughter Denise and son-in-law Rick. Al was born on the farm in Clanwilliam Manitoba, the 10th child of George and Mary Wilson. After leaving the farm Al worked in Base Supply and Engineers at Shilo for 35 years. He worked hard during the early days of the Reform Party, building the Assoc. in Brandon. He also loved to dance, especially Square Dancing. Al and Pat travelled many places to dance, including Halifax, NS and Hawaii. Trips to England and Alaska were great memories. He was a self taught carpenter and could fix just about anything. He built several cargo trailers for taking his doll houses to craft sales and was proud to say that he sold over 100 houses, which were modelled after the old home farm. Al also loved gardening, spending many hours with Pat tending the flowers and vegetables. He was a wonderful husband, Dad, Step Dad, Grampa and Great Grampa. He will be greatly missed. Many thanks to Dr. Cram, nurses and staff at the Souris Hospital and Souris Medical Clinic for their compassion and loving care. By Als request, cremation with no funeral services.
