HAYHURST: Phyllis Ada Hayhurst of Minnedosa, Manitoba passed quietly on the evening of January 27, 2010. Phyllis was born on August 2, 1920 to Frederick and Mary Church of Strathclair, Manitoba. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Henry and her children Harriet, Milton, Doreen, Gary and Marilyn. She will be lovingly remembered by brothers Clarence, Donald, and Gerald, son Doug, son-in-law’s Irv Schafer and Cal Frost, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends. Phyllis enjoyed entertaining family and friends, especially at her cottage at Sandy Lake, Manitoba. Her heart and home were always open and we are all fortunate to have known such an amazing woman! She enjoyed many crafts and loved to keep her hands busy, her favourite and most creative talents were: cooking, quilting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. In her later years, she was very active with local Senior’s groups in the community and within her residence at Townview Manor. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the Minnedosa Personal Care Home, whom took such good care of her in her final years. Memorial and Celebration Services will be postponed until later this spring or summer. The date will be announced prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Phyllis to be made to either the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Minnedosa Personal Care Home.
