McDOUGALL: Freda Gladys McDougall. After a long and brave fight with cancer, Freda passed away in the early morning of February 27, 2010. Freda was born on October 11, 1925 on a farm near MacNutt, Saskatchewan to Jacob and Christina Klein. She attended the country school there, and after graduation went to work in Winnipeg. There she met her husband Clyde, whom she was married to for 45 years. They had two children, Galen and Denise. After moving to Brandon she worked at Wilsons Stationery and at K-Mart for 17 years. Freda was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and served on various offices for the Lutheran Women's Missionary League Canada. She also was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion #247. In her younger years she was an avid curler and golfer. After retiring she bowled with the Maple Leaf ladies and golfed with the Glen Lea 9holers. Freda was predeceased by her husband Clyde McDougall, her parents, brothers, Allen and Harold, sisters Bertha Relky and Doris Chuchmuch. Surviving are her son Galen (Shelley), grandchildren Ryan (Leanne) and Lyndsey (Aaron); daughter Denise, grandchildren Micheal (Cherrise) and Gillian; great grandchildren Mitchel and Ava; sister Edna (Paul) Schwab; brothers Lennard and Robert; brother-in-law Bill (Myrtle) McDougall and sisters- in-law Viola (Wayne) Beach and Phyllis McDougall. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with interment to follow. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Freda may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 3101 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7B 3P9, or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7 or a charity of your choice.
