LEITHWOOD: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Eileen Patricia Leithwood. Mom passed away peacefully at her residence, Birch Lodge Personal Care Home on Sunday, February 28, 2010. She was born on April 4, 1939 to Howard and Marjorie Andrews in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mom married Gerald Leithwood on April 4, 1955 and together they farmed in the Interlake area along with their five children. They sold the farm in 1973 and moved to Brandon and from there moving onto an acreage near Wawanesa. She was a kind and loving person to all and will be greatly missed by her children, Robert (Faye), Karen (Doug) Agar, Brian (Sandi), Sid (Yeayneabeba), Sandy (Gord) Lee; grandchildren Jamie (Justin), Teigan, Jordan, Ocean, Savanna, Chastity, Tara, Anastasia, Steve, Brent, Jasmine, Destiny, Gisell; great grandchildren Payton and Xenthia; her mother Marjorie; and brothers Bill (Barb), George (Linda) and their families. Eileen was predeceased by her father Howard; husband Gerald; and grandson Brian. Eileen was a quiet, gentle, sincere person always giving and asking nothing in return. A private family service was held at Campbell Funeral Chapel, Hamiota, Manitoba on March 4, 2010, followed by interment in the Crandall Cemetery, Crandall, Manitoba. For those so desiring, donations may be made in Eileen’s memory to the Mobile Crisis Unit, 404 13th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4R1. The family would like to express a very special thank you to those who sent flowers, food, cards and messages of condolences upon the passing of Mom. To all the wonderful people who cared for mom while she lived in Hamiota. Also a big thank you to Campbell Funeral Home and Barbara Rediker for the beautiful service.
