CARMICHAEL: Jennie Gladys Carmichael. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandma and great grandma on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in her 82nd year. Jennie is survived by her children: Randy (Kathy) Carmichael, Darlene Crawford and Terrilyn Collins; grandchildren: Tammie, Darcy (Hawley), Tom (Diane), Tim (Melissa) and great grandchildren: Breanna, Cole, Brooklyn, Austin, Giles, Eilidh, Mhairi, Kendra and Lachlann. She is also survived by sister-in-law Margaret and many nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Clarence as well as by her four brothers and two sisters. Jennie was born January 9, 1928 in the RM of Lawrence and spenther childhood and teen years in Curtis School District. She married to Clarence in 1948 in Portage la Prairie and they later moved to Brandon in 1960. Jennie worked part-time and fulltime with various retail stores and retired as a golden employee with Saan Store. Jennie and Clarence were foster parents for many years. She enjoyed bowling and shuffle board, knitting and gardening. She was a loving, giving, supportive individual: her family was her life's breath. She will be solely missed by all who knew her. The funeral was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, March 8, 2010 with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiating. Pallbearers were Timothy Crawford, Melissa Crawford, Theodore Crawford, Diane Crawford, Tammie Bettiol and Darcy Carmichael. Piper was Thomas Crawford. Jennie was laid to rest at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Jennie may be made to the Lupus Society of Manitoba, #105, 386 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3R6.
