TRELOAR: Harold George Treloar passed away May 14, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Harold was born February 11, 1926 on the home farm near Rivers, Manitoba to Jessie and George Treloar. He married Wilma Hedley of Hamiota on July 9, 1955. They had five children; Diane LaVerle, Marilyn Georgina, Cameron Harvey George, Blaine Hedley and Harold Chris. Harold's father taught him how to farm which resulted in his purchase of the Treloar homestead and many enjoyable years of grain and cattle farming. Harley had acompassionate heart for animals and was extremely proud of his cattle. In earlier years, often one of Harold's children would wait at the gate to walk with him to the barn in safety amongst the large cows. Harold not only practiced natural methods of caring for livestock, but also taught these home remedies to his family. Harley enjoyed numerous travels via motor home as far south as Houston and Phoenix, as far north as Alaska, as far west as Victoria and as far east as Prince Edward Island. Harold moved off the farm and into his current residence on Ottawa Street approximately six years ago. He enjoyed his new friends and scooter rides to the mall. Harold is survived by: Wilma; daughters, Diane of Brandon and Marilyn (Kendall) of Delburne, Alberta; sons, Cameron (Donna) of Edmonton, Alberta, Blaine (Pauline) of Black Diamond, Alberta and Chris of Regina, Saskatchewan; his grandchildren Kendalyn, Aleita, Kerzdenn and Jevenn Kowalchuk, Nathan and Rachel Treloar and Jenna Barnes. He is also survived by two sisters Sheila Burton and Mary Barclay. Harold was predeceased by his parents, Jessie and George Treloar, his three brothers Bill, Doug and Bob Treloar and one sister Ethel Campbell. The Funeral service was held at Memories Chapel, Brandon, on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 with Pastor Josh Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Roseville (family) Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Nathan Treloar, Kerzdenn Kowalchuk, Jevenn Kowalchuk, nephew David Treloar and neighbours Gordon McFadden and Jamie McFadden. Honourary pallbearers were Brian Robins, Don McFadden, George Krahn, Jack Treloar, Ted Bowman, Hal Sveistrup and Pete Lepp. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of the Brandon Regional Health Centre for their care after his stroke.
