COTE: Sylvia Kathleen Cote (nee Watson), February 5, 1923 – June 15, 2010On Tuesday, June 15, 2010, Sylvia passed away with family at her side at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. Sylvia is survived by her daughter Debbie (Dwight); granddaughters Jennifer (Russell), and great grandson Nicholas; granddaughter Kayla (Dan) and great granddaughters Asha and Rylee; granddaughter Amanda (Mitchell); son Martin and grandson Derek; brother Allen (Shirley) at Cypress River; sisters in law Dianna of Brandon, Joyce of Brandon; brothers in law Edward of Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents James and Hattie Watson; brothers Victor, Gordon, Donald and Douglas; sister Shirley; as well as her husband Dick Cote. Sylvia was born on February 5, 1923 in Gladstone, Manitoba. She attended school near the family farm but left at an early age and moved to Winnipeg. She worked for Mitchell & Cop Jewelers, a job she enjoyed but also she loved to travel so she also lived in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Quebec. She had various jobs in retail and radio. Sylvia loved to camp, fish, hike and explore in her younger years. She was also a very creative woman and had done various volunteering work. She moved back to Brandon, Manitoba in 1978, where she resided until her passing. A Graveside Service will be held on June 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone Cemetery, Gladstone, Manitoba. Pallbearers will be her son Martin, brother Allen, granddaughters Kayla and Amanda, niece Jackie and son in law Dwight. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Unit 3, 824 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba.
