SLIMMON: Francis Laverne Slimmon, beloved husband of Betty and dear father of Joan and Gary and their families, passed away in Brandon on Sunday, June 20, 2010. The Ceremony to Celebrate Laverne's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hamiota Cemetery, Hamiota, Manitoba. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Laverne to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7. Complete obituary information will follow.
