STOUFFER: James Wilfrid Stouffer, April 4, 1934 - June 7, 2010. Peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2010, Jim passed away at the Palliative Care Centre, BRHC. Jim was born at Holmfield, Manitoba, the fifth of six children of Margaret (McLarty) and Stanley Stouffer. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce (Davis), daughter Diana (Wayne). His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Matthew, Jeffery, Emily and Noah Pearen; Logan Stouffer Askham; step- daughters, Reagan and Alysa Vaneste; daughter- in-law Maria Askham. Also surviving are his sisters, Phyllis and Alice Laminman and brother Lew (Anita) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Jim worked at several jobs in Brandon until 1956, when he joined the Royal Canadian Navy where he served for five years. After he left the Navy he worked at several jobs until he went into partnership with his brother-in-law Lloyd Laminman. In 1991 he retired due to ill health. Jim was a member of the Army & Navy Club and an avid curler, getting an eight-ender in one of his many games. He spent many hours watching and coaching his children in their sports. Jim loved camping and spent many vacations camping with his family, friends and relatives. Jim was predeceased by his infant daughter Rhonda and son Robert, his parents Margaret and Stanley Stouffer, brothers Bob and Don (Muriel), brothers-in-law Lloyd and Charlie Laminman, mother and father-in-law Vickie and Raymond Davis. In accordance with Jim’s wishes, a graveside service was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on June 10, 2010 followed by a reception at Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre.
