VOODRE: The death of Nettie Voodre (nee Enns), widow of the late Robert James Voodre, beloved mother of Laurence, Dawna and Kevin, occurred at her residence, Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home on Monday, June 28, 2010. Nettie was born in Lena, Manitoba on June 26, 1931, the daughter of Peter and Aganetha Enns. She began her early elementary education in Lena. After the death of her father, in 1945, her mother and five children moved to Grunthal, Manitoba where Nettie finished her elementary at Gravelridge School. In the early 1950's, the family moved to Winnipeg. Nettie went out to work in the fruit winery. She returned home to care for her ailing mother. Nettie then worked as a Nurses' Aide, where she met her future husband, Robert James Voodre. They were married in 1961. She loved teachingSunday School and the Pioneer Girls Club, canning, watching birds, caringfor her flowers, and sewing everything for her kids. Nettie will be missed by her son Laurence (Elena); daughter Dawna; son Kevin (Erin); grandchildren: Shae-lynn and Kaleb. She was predeceased by her parents: Peter and Aganetha Enns; four siblings in infancy; her husband Robert "Bob" in 2003; a brother and sister; and one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. The Funeral Service will be held at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, 635 McDiarmid Drive on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 1:30 pm. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Rev. Larry Janz and Rev. Earl Ricalton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Harry Krahn, Jake Enns, Cyril Stott, Bernie Krahn, Rudy Krahn, and Carl Driedger. Interment will follow at the Rivers Mennonite Cemetery. Donations in memory of Nettie may be made to the Janz Team Ministries, 2121 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2G 1P8.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
