NORRIS: William Edwin (Bill) Norris, Chief Warrant Officer (Ret.), passed away on the evening of July 1, 2010 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in Alberta. He was 86 years old. Having enlisted in 1942, he served with distinction for 36 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force and, after unification, the Canadian Armed Forces. Raised in and around Toronto and Oakville, his career consisted of postings in Ontario, including at National Defence Headquarters, as well as in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sheila Joan Norris (nee Radford) and son William Robert (Bud) Norris, P.Eng., (Vicky); granddaughter Leah Corrine Patrick (Barry) and grandson Hon. William Paul Robert (Rob) Norris (Martha); great grandchildren William Scott Patrick and Jacqueline Smith Norris. An extensive extended family includes surviving brothers-in-law Ron (Maxine), Barry (Norma) and Keith Radford as well as surviving sisters-in-law Margaret and Betty Radford. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilsons Funeral Chapel in Lacombe, Alberta with interment at the Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe, Alberta.
