ADAMS: Lola Jean (Munro) passed away at Lions Manor in Winnipeg, June 9, 2010. She was born at Croll, Manitoba. July 24, 1917. She married Thomas (Scotty) Adams in 1942. Mom was a wartime bride who raised three children. Scotty predeceased her in 1979. Mom was also predeaced by her parents Neil and Mary Ann (Whiteside) Munro, brothers Hector, Norman and Sam; sisters Lillian Mennie and Marion Facey. Surviving are sons, Dennis (Lily) and Roy (Gwen) Adams; and daughter Gwen (Phil) Shelvey; three grandchildren, Susan (Stuart) Bertram, Brock Adams and Shannon (Ken) Shumila. There are five great-grandsons. Mom is survived by her sister Theresa Chambers of Boissevain and brother Clifford (Sadie) Munro of Brandon. At her request, Mom has donated her remains to the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba, for research. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
