ZAVITZ: Deanna Pauline Zavitz Vanderburgh (nee Imlach). July 10, 1939- July 10, 2010. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Deanna Pauline Zavitz, on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Beausejour Hospital with her family gathered at her side. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (Chere) Vanderburgh, Ken (Linda) Zavitz, Denise (Dwight) Reich and Jason (Tracy) Zavitz; her grandchildren Clinton (Vera-Lynn), Craig (Amy), Brendan (Ashley), Evan (Amber), Heather and Drew, Kenny (Cheryl), Kristy (Layton), Courtney, Brett, Alissa, McKenna and Carson; her great-grandson Austin; sisters: Jean, Molly and Vici, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Vanderburgh; her son Arnie; her parents Lorne and Christina Imlach; her brothers Bob and Mac and her sisters: Betty and Dorothy. Deanna was raised and spent the majority of her life in Brandon, Manitoba. Her last year and a half was spent in Beausejour. Deanna was the seventh child of eight. She grew up in a very loving and caring home. She spent many years working for the Department of Agriculture before moving on to continue her education and getting her LPN Degree. She worked for many years in the City of Brandon caring for hundreds of individuals. All whom she touched their hearts and was in return touched by theirs. She was an incredible mother who gave each of us an amazing amount of strength, courage, dignity, determination and most of all love. She had the biggest heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone and never expected anything in return. She was also the most compassionate individual, caring for everyone that came her way. She will always be our rock. Thank you Mom for always being there for us. A sincere thank you to Home Care and the staff of the Beausejour Hospital for all their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and graveside service will take place on August 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the West Lawn Section at Brandon Cemetery. In memory of Mom donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba/Alzheimers Society.
