RINGASH: Clifford Joseph Ringash of Brandon passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2010. Cliff was born in Portage la Prairie, the son of John and Mary Ringash (deceased). He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anne; daughter Dr. Jolie Ringash and her husband Dr. Glen Bandiera of Toronto; a brother Ernie, wife Josephine and their children Tracy, Todd and their families. There are several in-laws, nieces and nephews from Anne's family. Cliff joined the militia, the 26th Field Regiment Portage la Prairie, when he was 16. He was an active member until the age of 28, attaining the rank of Sergeant, gunnery. Cliff moved to Brandon in March, 1963 to join the Brandon Police Service, proudly serving the citizens of Brandon for 33 years. At one point in his career he was the firearms instructor, spending time teaching safe gun practices to members of the newly formed DOTC as well as members of the Brandon Police Service. He was promoted through the ranks, retiring as Staff Sergeant. His retirement years were spent travelling, helping Anne fulfill her dreams to see the world. Cliff was an accomplished wood craftsman and carver, a great dance partner, camper, fisherman, and collector of old stuff. Cliff was a faithful husband, devoted father and loyal friend, especially to Shane who became the son he never had. At his request there will be no service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish may make a donation in Cliff's remembrance to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M5G 2M9, (Cure Cancer in our Lifetime Fund) or a charity of one's choice. Thefamily acknowledge with gratitude the care and compassion shown by Dr. P. Van Rensberg, Dr. Barry Riche and Dr. Gauthier in Emergency; staff on Station 2, Brandon Clinic and all those ladies in the day hospital.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
