RONEY: Barbara Ann Roney (nee Murphy). It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother on Wednesday July 28 after a brief illness at the Brandon Memorial Hospital with her son Chris at her side. Barb leaves to mourn her passing 2 sons Chris and Darwin (Doris) and her 3 beloved grandchildren Danielle (9), Devin (4) and Dereka (4). She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Leone Wolosyn, brother Richard Murphy (Donna), sister in law Sherron Murphy, Myrna Addison, and brother in law Ken Roney (Julie), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barb’s beloved Mel of 44 years predeceased her in 2005 and left a great void in her life. She was also predeceased by her mother Ann Murphy and brother Terry Murphy. In the early years of her marriage her time was devoted to Mel and the boys. In 1980 she entered the work force and was employed by the Village of Wawanesa until she retired in 2000. She enjoyed curling and was an avid sports spectator. Barb was an integral part of the Community she loved so much. She was surrounded by her Legendary Coffee Group who supported her over the years. Their kindness was innumerable for which the family is thankful. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 12, 2010 at 2:00pm in the Wawanesa United Church. Interment to follow in the Wawanesa Cemetery. Friends that so desire memoriams may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to the Parkinson Foundation of Manitoba or to a local community charity of choice.
