LASHUK: Elsie. It is with great sadness that Elsie Lashuk of Sandy Lake, Manitoba passed away at the age of 87 at Tri Lake Health Centre in Killarney, Manitoba on August 25, 2010. Elsie was born at Newdale, Manitoba on March 12, 1923. Elsie was an avid church goer, gardener and a great cook, and everyone went home with a care package. She cooked for weddings, fall suppers and funerals for many years. Mom will be sadly missed by her children Eleanor, Marilyn (Dave) and Pat and her two grandchildren who were special to her, Michelle (Tim) and Shawna (Clark). Also by her brothers, sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Elsie was predeceased by her husband John, son Eugene, son-in-law Gordon, brother Johnny and sister-in-law Pat and her parents Peter and Mary Sowchuk and special nephew Tommy. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church in Sandy Lake, Manitoba with Father Emil Kardasinec officiating. Interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery.
