WOOLEY: Francis John Wooley (“Frank”). Frank Wooley beloved husband of Evelyn passed away on August 26, 2010 peacefully at the Souris Personal Care Home at the age of 88. Frank was born and raised near Treherne Manitoba. He served in the Canadian Navy during World War II. In 1945 Frank married Evelyn Wood of Minto. They lived in Winnipeg where Frank worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway for 41 years. In 1982 they retired to Minto. This is where he planted his garden, his pride and joy. He walked many a mile carrying water to the garden. He took pride in having the first new potatoes in the area, most years. Frank enjoyed curling, golfing and play cards, cribbage and rummy being his favorites. He was a life member of the Minto Legion. He will be sadly missed by his children, Doug, Stonewall, Manitoba, Gordon (Gwen), Minto, Manitoba, and Janice, Souris, Manitoba. His grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Hodges, Regina SK, Jenny (Jason) Thomas, Winnipeg Manitoba, Adrienne (Emory) Ashcroft, MacGregor, Manitoba, Valerie (Michael) Cuvelier, Margaret, Manitoba, Blair Wooley, Minto, Manitoba, and his seven great-grandchildren. Brother, Garnet (Lil) Wooley, Morden, Manitoba, sister-in-law, Muriel (Harold) Robertson, Brandon, Manitoba, and brother-in-law, Earl (Wenda) Wood, Minto, Manitoba, plus many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at the Minto Cemetery on August 30, 2010. In memory of Frank donations maybe made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice.
