SOLOWAY: Paulette Marie (nee Novak) passed away peacefully on August 28, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Paulette was born in Neepawa on July 30, 1953 to Paul and Jean Novak, the middle sibling of nine children. Paulette grew up on a farm north of Neepawa and graduated from Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute. While growing up her interests were in helping with the farm, raising and training horses. Paulette moved to Brandon in 1971 and began her working career. While working at Kmart she met Ivan Soloway and they were married two years later. They were inseparable for the next 37 years of marriage. Their son Kory was born in 1976 and their daughter Tenille was born in 1978. All who knew Paulette would tell you that her family was the center of her life. She loved caring for her family so much; in 1978 she started a new career as a day care provider and was affectionately known as "Auntie Paulette" to all of her little ones. After many years of caring for children from all around Brandon, Ivan and Paulette decided on another career move. In 1998, they purchased the Casa Maley Bed and Breakfast and became the host and hostess to many visitors from around the globe. They were known to say, "We don't need to travel the world, the world comes to us". Paulette is survived by her loving husband Ivan, and her children Kory (Amanda) and Tenille (Ryan). She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Larry (Fern), Dennis (Linda), Arnie (Diane), Jan, Yvonne (Kelly), Debbie (Henry), Chris (Kelly), Randy (Norma) and numerous nieces and nephews. "The family chain has been broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again." Prayers and Celebration of Paulette's life was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday September 2, 2010. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 3, 2010. Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Dominic Yuen.
