LOGAN: Dorothy Irene Logan (Poole) passed from this life peacefully at Brandon Regional Health Centre on September 4, 2010 entering into the loving care of her Heavenly Father with her family at her side. Irene was born July 30, 1943 to Howard and Eva Poole of Medora. She attended school in Medora and Deloraine. After leaving school, she enjoyed several jobs including: Jenkins Pharmacy (Deloraine), Souris IGA and housekeeping duties at Deloraine Hospital. More recently, Irene worked at Woolco and finally, Wal-Mart here in Brandon where she thoroughly enjoyed her work as a Greeter. How thrilled she was upon receiving her 15-year pin from Wal-Mart! Through her work at Wal-Mart she made many contacts and getting to know people was so important to her always. September 29, 1962 Irene married Russell Andrew Logan at Medora United Church. Irene and Russ were thrilled with the arrival of son, Darren Russell, October 30, 1963 and Penelope Lee Irene, October 18, 1967. Music continued to be an integral part of her life - singing in the Medora Junior Choir and playing the piano. She could tinkle those ivories like no one else, playing most any song suggested. Irene found great joy in entertaining and gave pleasure to so many at sing-a-long gatherings. Many were the good times that Rene experienced at the Deloraine Palais Royale where, light as a feather, she danced to the music of the Rythemaires. Irene loved to cook, to try new recipes and to share her wonderful meals with others. After dining, a good game of cribbage rounded out an evening in fine style. Mourning her loss will be her daughter Penny (Peter) Roberts, Snow Lake, five grandchildren, Kayla (Jonathan), Brett, Randi, Josie, and Zachary, and one great-granddaughter Peyton. Also, Rene will be lovingly missed by sister, Gayle (Bill) Watt, and two brothers, Gerald (Maggie) and Wayne (Kathy) Poole as well as several nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her son Darren in 1998, father Howard 1985 and mother Eva 2001. Irene will always be remembered for her fondness of humour, good food and fun times. She was always the life of any party or family gathering. A graveside service to celebrate Irene’s life was held at the Medora Cemetery on September 8, 2010. Shirley McBurney of Wawanesa officiated with Smith’s Funeral Home of Deloraine in charge of arrangements. A reception followed at the Deloraine Legion Hall. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Medora Cemetery Fund in Irene’s memory. Your presence we miss,Your memory we treasure,Loving you always,Forgetting you never.
