PLAISIER-ANDRIES: Mary Helen Plaisier-Andries passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, one day before her 61st birthday. Mary was born in Brandon on September 29, 1949. She was raised and relied on as a huge contributor on the farm at Cherry Point (Oak Lake). She attended Sandhurst School and Virden Collegiate. Most recently Mary worked as an administrative assistant for the City of Brandon and previously worked for the TD Bank and the Pilot Mound School. Organizations that she belonged to were: Westman Gardeners Club, Sorority (Beta Sigma Phi), and many other community organizations in Rossburn, Pilot Mound, Winnipeg and Brandon. Mary relished and excelled in her role of CEO of all her households. She was a chef extraordinaire and enjoyed gardening, volunteering for many organizations in her community such as Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved her classic rock concerts, gardening, traveling, shopping, maintaining her health and fitness by playing ball, golfing, walking and aerobics. Family and friends will remember her as a "classy lady" who was always "looking great". Mary was the founding president and initiator of the Rossburn Nursery School, a member of the supervisory committee of the Rossburn Credit Union and administrative assistant to the President of Sherrit-Gordan Mines in Lynn Lake. Mary will joyfully be remembered and survived by her husband Rod, son Michael (Tara) Procyk and their children Dryden, Jordan and Kiara; son Lee Procyk; daughter Nicole Procyk; step-son Aaron (Amanda) Andries and their children Hunter and Jasmyne. She is also survived by her brother Rick (Marie) Plaisier, Rod's brother Bud Andries, sisters: Dorothy Graham, Marj Oliver, Diane (John) Josephson, Raylene (Wayne) Lamport, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her pet dog Dakota. Mary was predeceased by her parents Dick and Betty Plaisier and grandparents Joe and Mary Parkes, Constant and Maria Plasier, as well as brother-in-law Don Oliver. The Funeral Service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 am. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brad Oliver, Keith Oliver, Calvin Lamport, Wes Lamport, Shawn Plaisier and Randy Gudmundson. Interment will follow in the Melita Cemetery, Melita, Manitoba at 3:30 p.m. Friends who desire may make a memorial donation in memory of Mary to the ALS Society, 493 Madison St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3J 1J2.
