RESHAUR: It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ronald (Ron) Roland Reshaur, at the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg, Manitoba on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at the age of 58 years. Loving husband, best friend and soul mate to Wendy (nee Walker) Reshaur. Ron leaves his legacy behind in his children, daughters Tanis (Andrew) Furmidge, Nicole (Jason Chumola) Thornitt, son, Steven (Heather McNarland) Reshaur and son-in-law, Michael Thornitt. "Papa", also leaves "the loves of his life", his grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Thornitt, Payton, Brett and Kaelen Furmidge. Ron will continue to live on through these beautiful, strong and loving children. Predeceased by his mother, Evelyn Reshaur, mother and father-in-law, Mae and James Walker. Survived by his father, Roland (Suzy) Reshaur, brother Kelvin and sisters, Velma, Shelley, Carla, sister-in-law Judy Walker and brothers- in-law Jamie and Dean Walker, very special cousin Larry (Terrie) Falk, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Ron was born May 12, 1952 in Gladstone, MB. He received his education in Gladstone after which he began his working career. Wendy and Ron met in high school and married in 1971 and started their family shortly after. Ron worked for Pugh's Concrete, Manitoba Highways Department and in 1976 began his 30 year career with CP Rail officially retiring from there in 2007. Ron was never one to sit still and therefore began his own business RWR Services, in 2001. Ron kept busy with contract work and maintenance for Manitoba Housing and in 2009 found himself yet another job, this one with Hallcon, where his years of experience with CP Rail were a great asset. Ron was always busy working at something and also prepared Income Tax for a large clientele. Ron was known by everyone for his honesty, integrity, courage, strength, work ethic, knowledge, countless skills, humor and his love for life. His soft spoken manner and charm will be missed by all who knew him, worked with him or had ever met him. Ron was passionate about his family, friends and loved baseball as a player, spectator and coach. He was loyal beyond words, his entire life to the Toronto Blue Jays and his Winnipeg Blue Bombers, a strong union supporter his entire career and into his retirement. Ron was proud to hold the office of Secretary Treasurer for The Teamsters Union Local 0145, for many years. Ronnie was a man who dreamed of a better world for all, so sure that this time he had "the winning combination" never realizing that just being near him was "the winning combination". Words will never be adequate to sum up a man or life like Ronnie's. We love you to the moon and back forever and always and miss you more than you'll ever know. May you be at peace, Our hero. The Ceremony to Celebrate Ron's life was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, October 18, 2010. Dr. Evert Busink officiated.
