McNIVEN: Doris Andrea (Schoenau). Sept. 27, 1938 - Nov. 12, 2010. Doris got her wings after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her brother Bert (Myrna), their children Jason, Nicole and Jarod; 4 children, Neil (Lucy), Theresa (Vern), Wina (Brad), Krista (Ted), and her honorary daughter Robyne (Doug). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, Oliver and Jocelyn, who brought her happiness and joy. Doris had many very special friends through the years, that are too numerous to mention. She had a zest for life that was second to none, even during her battle with cancer. She always looked at everything in life as a cup half full. She always tried to make you look at the bright side of things by bringing laughter and energy to every situation. When she was young she enjoyed playing baseball and skiing and later developed a love for golf. She was a true Blue Bomber and Dodger fan until the end. Doriss one true passion in life was sewing. She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed many hours of sewing for family and friends. Her amazing outlook for life will be greatly missed by family and friends. To honor Doris we are having a Celebration of Life at the Trails West Motor Inn on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. We hope you will join us in honoring her memory and celebrating her life.
