BOYD: Mary Edna Boyd, May 28, 1914 November 8, 2010. Edna passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, November 8, 2010. She was born in Hayfield, Manitoba. She spent the rest of her life in the Winnipeg/Brandon area. She was a very talented seamstress and many beautiful brides and bridesmaids passed through her little sewing room. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed her home, gardens and little cabin at Clear Lake. Edna is survived by her four children, Shirley Cummings, Douglas Boyd (Darlene), Diane Boyd (Dieter) and Robert Boyd (Ann); seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Edna was predeceased by her loving husband Bud Boyd and her granddaughter Laurie Boyd, as well as her parents William and Martha Stapleton, sisters Olive, Florence, Jean, Ruth, Mabel, Margurette, Mildred and her brothers Gordon, Orville and Earl. The Funeral Service to honour Ednas life was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. David Cathcart of Knox United Church officiating. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edna may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 4B-457-9th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 1K2.
