THERRIEN: Ruby Marguerite (nee Hoy) November 6, 1918 December 7, 2010. Ruby Therrien passed away on December 07, 2010. She was born in Hilton, Manitoba and moved with her family at an early age to a homestead near Turtle River, Manitoba where they farmed. She married Donat Joseph Therrien (Alfred Lucien) from Makinak, Manitoba in 1938. Ruby and Don moved to Brandon in the early 40s when Don was stationed in Shilo. They spent the major part of their working years in Brandon, later moving to Regina SK, Bassano and Calgary, Alberta. They lived a short time in Edmonton after they retired and then moved to Kelowna where Don died in 1990. Ruby continued to live in Kelowna until 2007, when her health forced her to move closer to her family in Calgary. Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Beverly, Albert (Elaine Humphries), Tom (Karen Bartels), Dennis, and Linda. Ruby is also survived by many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by all her sisters and brothers, and was the last of her and dads generation in the family. Funeral Services will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, 32194th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. She will later be taken to Kelowna where she will be interred with Don.
