LOMBAERT: It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, George Lombaert, on Saturday, December 4, 2010. He was predeceased by his father Oscar, his brother Larry, his step-father Maurice Wittevrongel, his nephew Chad Campbell and his in-laws Edith and George Anderson. He will be missed by his loving wife Marlene, his children Kim (Randy) and Kristen and Brett Mowatt; Carrie (Bob) and Jayda and Karly Bardeck; Craig Lombaert and daughter Emma; Ashley (Tony) Commer and Vanessa Lombaert. He will also be missed by his mother Marguerite Wittevrongel, his brothers Jerry and Donald, his sisters Mona Campbell and Anita Rhodes and their families, and step-sisters Sharon (Bruce) Evans and Shirley (Tom) Isford and their families. George was employed by Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation for thirty-six years and will be missed by many friends and co-workers. A special thanks and appreciation to the many friends and family who have provided support and comfort throughout George's illness. The family also wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff on A3 Assiniboine Centre. A Celebration of Georges Life was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Shannon McCarthy of Central United Church officiating. A private family interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8.
