TERRY: December 3, 1943- December 14, 2010. Hughene Alison Terry (Lefurgey), beloved wife of the late Al Terry of Brandon, Manitoba passed away at the Pincher Creek Hospital on December 14, 2010 at the age of 67 years. Hughene is a loving mother of: Michelle (Terry) and Jim Duncan of Pincher Creek, Alberta, Kevin and Sharlene Terry of Brandon, Manitoba, Shannon (Caine) and Robert Doherty of Kelowna, B.C.; grandchildren who adored her Ashtyn, Matthew, Tristan, Tyrell, Devin, and Derek, They will forever miss her hugs and her pies. Grandma made the best! She is also survived by her sister Connie Shorrock; brother Duncan and Brenda Shorrock; brothers-in-law Robert and Margaret Terry, Gerald and Claire Terry; as well as many nieces and nephews. Hughene was predeceased by her mother Margaret (Cameron-Lefurgey) Shorrock, father Allan Lefurgey, step-father Howard Shorrock and most recently lost her lifelong love and husband, Alwin Terry who passed away on October 23rd, 2010. Hughie as most of us called her was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on the Cameron family farm. She was very fond of her heritage and spoke of it often. Hughie was fortunate to have three sets of family; the Camerons, the Lefurgeys, and the Shorrocks. There was no shortage of love or family. She remembered everyone fondly. Hughie finished school in Minnedosa and moved to Winnipeg where she met Al. They wed in December of 68 back at the farm with loved ones around them. Hughie and Al had two children: Michelle and Kevin whom they raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Around 1989 mom was reunited with Shannon Caine, her daughter and our family was complete. Mom and dad eventually moved back to Manitoba in order to be closer to their own parents. It wasnt much later that they became grandparents themselves too. Being grandma and papa gave them great joy. Family meant everything to Mom. She travelled a long way to spend the holidays with us and I believe she still will. We feel you and you will always be in our hearts. A Celebration of Hughenes life will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011, at the Minnedosa United Church, 48 Main St. S., Minnedosa, Manitoba, with Reverend Natasha Pearen, officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at the Minnedosa Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Hughenes memory to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Cancer Care Project, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.
