MILLMAN: Owen Edward Millman, 1919 - 2011. Peacefully on January 8, 2011, our Dad, Owen Edward Millman of Brandon, formerly of Winnipeg, passed away at the Assinboine Centre in Brandon, at the age of 91 years. Dad was born on August 1, 1919 in Starbuck, MB, and he moved to Winnipeg in 1954. Dad worked for Rogers Fruit and then continued his employment with Nelson River Construction. After dad retired, at the age of 65 years, he and mom enjoyed travelling, camping and fishing. During his retirement years, dad also enjoyed visiting the farm, and assisting Murray with the haying. He was predeceased by his parents, Amos Millman and Ella Vickberg; his wife, Doris and his son, Edward Millman. Owen is survived by his children; Bob (Kim) Millman, Joyce (Bob) Lamont, Dorothy (Murray) McGill and Ken (Ingrid) Millman. He will also be missed by his 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and sincere friend and sister-in-law, Edith Ambrose. Our family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of A2 the Assiniboine Centre for the care given to our dad during his time there. A funeral service took place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, on Thursday, January 13, 2011 with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating.
