DYCK: Margaret Dyck, August 30, 1926 - January 19, 2011. Margaret Dyck passed away peacefully, leaving all her pain and suffering behind onto her heavenly home on January 19, 2011 at Dinsdale Personal Care Home in Brandon, Manitoba.  Margaret was born at Aberdeen, Saskatchewan on August 30, 1926 to Jacob and Margareta Zacharias. In her younger years she received Jesus as Saviour and until her death served God faithfully. On November 4, 1945 Margaret married Peter Dyck and they resided in the Gladstone area. In 1957, they moved to Brandon. She was employed at Perth's Drycleaners from 1958 - 1969 when she suffered a stroke at age forty-two, and was forced to quit her work. After many months of rehabilitation she was able to talk again and proudly walked down the aisle without the aid of a walker or cane, at her son’s wedding just five months later. She endured many physical ailments over the years including cancer and open heart surgery not once, but twice. To say she was a determined lady would be an understatement. Even though she was now paralyzed on her right side she taught herself how to do everything left-handed ... including quilting, needle point, sewing, gardening ... and don't forget all that baking!!! Much of her handiwork is proudly displayed in the homes of her family members. Despite often experiencing pain, she loved spending time with her family and friends and would never be one to miss a party especially if it included pizza, chips, ice cream or games!  Margaret was predeceased by an infant son and daughter; her loving husband of 55 years, Peter; parents Jacob and Margareta Zacharias; sister Helen Neustater; brothers Jake and Pete Zacharias; and son-in-law Wayne McAuley. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Larry (Marilyn) Dyck of Salmon Arm, B.C., and daughter Dorothy McAuley of Brandon.  Grandchildren Jeff (Jessica) Dyck of Surrey, B.C., Janine Dyck of Salmon Arm, B.C., Rhonda (Ted) Krahn of Rivers, Darryl (Sandy) McAuley of Brandon  and Allan (B-J) McAuley of Rapid City. As well as her beloved great-grandchildren Amelia and  Simon Dyck, Josiah, Kayley and Hunter Dyck, Alyssa, Josh and Heidi Krahn, Joelle and Tanner McAuley and Will, Amy and Ben McAuley.  She is also survived by her sisters Anne (Jake) Doell and Trudy (Jake) Loewen. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church with interment following at the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined but if friends so desire they may contribute to Missionary Relatives, Rollie and Denise Hodgman, who are serving with Northern Canada Evangelical Fellowship (Box 3030 Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, S6V 7V4 or the charity of their choice. Clarke's Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.www.clarkesfuneralhome.com
