WESTWOOD: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian Dorothy Westwood on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Brandon Regional Health Centre. She passed on to be with her husband Roy Westwood and son Ron and is survived by son Len (Louise) Westwood, granddaughters Corinne (Luc) Mireault, Wendy (Bryan) Warner and Shelley Westwood as well as great-grandchildren Alexie, Danica, Dylan and Gracy, her pride and joy. Viv will be missed by her many friends. She was born on March 23, 1927 and grew up in Brandon. In 1947, Viv married Roy Westwood and together they operated a successful business in Rapid City until 1956 when Roy joined the Manufacturers Life sales team and moved to Brandon. Throughout the years, Viv enjoyed gardening, baking, and various activities at their second home at Clear Lake. Viv was a dedicated volunteer, spending time with the residents at Hillcrest Place as well as the Brandon General Hospital and Knox United Church. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team at the Assiniboine Centre and the staff at Hillcrest Place for their kindness and support. The Ceremony to Celebrate Viv's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, Brandon on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Pastor Josh Taylor will officiate. Interment will be in the Rapid City Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
