THOMPSON: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret Thompson on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 46 years, Richard, and her daughters, Lisa (Brent) Mendella and Rene (Jamie) Snowdon, her two grandchildren Taryn and Ryker, who were her pride and joy, and her sister, Loretta Lewis and family. Margaret was born on November 20, 1938 in Bay Bulls, Newfoundland. She grew up in Bay Bulls and as a young woman, met her husband who was stationed there while in the USA Navy. After marrying him on September 11, 1965, they travelled throughout the United States and Europe while Richard completed his service in the Navy. In 1972, they moved to Brandon, Manitoba to be closer to Margaret's sister. Throughout the years, Margaret enjoyed her friends and family. She welcomed everyone into her home for an enjoyable visit over a cup of tea. She was a talented woman and her various jobs throughout life included administrative assistant, bakery manager, retail sales, and business owner. Margaret's warm personality and outgoing nature led her to make friends wherever she went. We will miss her dearly and will remain forever touched by her presence in this lifetime. The family would like to thank both the 3rd floor staff and the ICU team fortheir kindness and support during her stay. The Ceremony to Celebrate Margaret's life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, Brandon on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Chris Arthur will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined.
