McINTYRE: February 6th, 2011 the death of William Barry, 74 years young, occurred peacefully at home in Brandon with his wife and family by his side. He leaves to mourn his life partner of 52 years Beverley (Asham); daughter Karen (Rob) grandchildren Sam (Wren) and Jeslin (Tyler); daughter Teresa (Rupert) grandchildren Chey Anne and Ashley; daughter Leona; son Willie (Diane) grandchildren Kayla (Brody) and T.J. and grandchildren Kyle & Krista; daughter Georgina (Brian) grandchildren Monica & Thomas and faithful Poodle Cooper, who misses him dearly. Bill was predeceased by granddaughter Kaitlyn Mae and his beautiful Cocker Spaniel Penny. Special friends: Bruce, Marge, Denise, Hank, Vince, Dorothy, Dennis, Frank, Heather, Johnnie, Shane, Jim, Judy, Gary, Emily, Natalie (our little brown sista) and Marcie. Bill was born July 24th, 1936 in Cabri, Saskatchewan and raised in Arden, Manitoba, the son of Lydia & Andy McIntyre. He and Bev were married Nov 15th, 1958. Because he helped build many highways and roads in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba over the years, their places of residence were: Calgary and East, Winnipeg and West, Holland (Manitoba, not Europe) and North, Waboden and South. He had a variety of vocations: security, catering; manager; chemical abuse counsellor; road construction (paver, crusher, loader, gravel trucks). He had a passion for: Bill Ws group (34 yrs) where he was so affectionately nicknamed Whisper; camping; curling; cooking; travelling and events occurring at the Keystone Center. Bev and children would like to extend special thanks to: Rob Tom, Medical Center Pharmacy; Home Care Nurses who attended Dad in his final week at home; Dr. Riche for his care over the past 16 years; Dr. Sammy Mikail for his support; all Bill Ws friends who stopped by to see dad at the hospital, that final week at home & for all the cards, flowers, love and support. We would like to thank all the family and friends that sent cards, meals, flowers, phone calls and your thoughts and prayers. In accordance with Dads wishes, cremation has taken place and when the time comes, he will rest with mom. A memorial service celebrating Dads life will be held at the Arden Community Hall in Arden, Manitoba, on Apr 30th beginning at 1:00 p.m. We welcome everyone who would like to drop by and share memories and refreshments with Bills family.
