DUBYTS: It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ernest Fredrick Dubyts on March 26, 2011 at the Tri-Lake Health Centre in Killarney, with his family by his side. Ernie was born on July 15, 1931 on the Dubyts farm in the Belmont district. He married Joan (Matheson) of Belmont on March 26, 1955. Ernie and Joan farmed south of Belmont where they raised their three children: Kerry, Laurieand Scott. Ernie was a man of integrity and was highly respected by all who knew him as a man and as afarmer. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a strong belief in his faith and put his trust in God. Ernie will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 56 years Joan, his son Kerry (Arlene) and their children Brendin (Terry), Shellsey (Steve), Janna (Justin) and Kendle; his daughter Laurie (Michael Oster) and their daughters Madeline and Rachel; his son Scott (Claire) and their daughters Brittney and Shayna; his great-grandchildren Jenna, Austin, Gaven, Emma and Oliver. He also leaves his two brothers Harry (Shirley) and Lawrence (Lorraine), three sisters Olga Bosada, Lena (Ralph) Lumb, Iris (Merlin) Hammond, sisters-in-law Rene Gordon and Shirley Matheson, brother-in-law Gordon (Janet) Matheson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ernie was predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Nellie Dubyts, sister Anne and husband Cecil Staples, sister Irene and husband Peter Ledarney, brother-in-law Bill Bosada, father and mother-in-law Norman and Effie Matheson, brothers-in-law Babe Gordon and Jim Matheson, sister-in-law Pat Matheson. A celebration of Ernie’s life was held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Knox United Church, Belmont with Elizabeth Goodson officiating. Urn bearer was Brendin Dubyts. Friends, who so desire, may make memoriams in Ernie’s memory to the Knox United Church Memorial Fund, Belmont, Manitoba, R0K 0C0 or to Killarney Palliative Care c/o Tri-Lake Health Centre, Box 5000 Killarney, Manitoba, R0K 1G0.
