TRUAX: Earl Gordon Truax passed away on March 17, 2011 with his family by his side. Gord was born in Deloraine on March 2, 1955 to Earl and Gertrude Truax. He attended school in Hartney, Manitoba. Gord worked for his dad’s business, South Central Feedlot Cleaning for several years before purchasing it in 1988. The highlight of Gord’s life was his three children, and eight grandchildren. Left to mourn his passing is his three children Melanie and her husband Bryce, Jeffrey and his wife Angie, and Tracy and her husband Wayne; his grandchildren Taylor, Kyle, Kyrnan, Madison, Garrin, Kayla, Riley, and Aiden, and close friend Cheryl Harvie. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ann and husband John, Joan and husband Jim, and Cheryl and husband Ken, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He is predeceased by his parents Earl and Gertrude Truax. Funeral services were held in the Centennial Hall on March 23 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Margret Kristjansson officiating. Organist Lorne Robson and assisted by the choir. Honorary pallbearers, Glen Forbes and Walter Teetaert. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Hartney, Manitoba. Arrangements by Kowalchuk’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lung Association. A special thank you to doctors, nurses and staff of the Souris Hospital for the wonderful care taken of our father and grandfather. Thank you to friends and neighbors for many cards, flowers, phone calls, inquiries, baking and donations to the Lung Association.
