REYNOLDS: Edna, passed away March 26th, 2011 at the Fairview Personal Care Home, Brandon, Manitoba in her 97th year. Edna was born July 16th, 1914 in Miniota. Edna was educated in Miniota and graduated from grade 12 in 1932, the first year grade 12 was offered in Miniota. After attending Normal School in Winnipeg, Edna taught in several country schools and later in Oakner, Rivers, Newdale, Binscarth and Miniota. Edna retired in 1974 after 38years of teaching. Edna was known to be rather strict, however earned the respect of her students. Many have said,” Miss Reynolds was the best teacher I ever had” Edna was a strong community supporter and was a member of the Miniota United Church for many years. Edna was predeceased by her parents, George in 1949,Lila in 1974, Brothers Lawrence in 1983, Jim in 1998 and sister in-law Eva in 1999. Edna leaves to mourn her sister in-law Verna Reynolds, nephew Jack (Mary) of Kelowna B.C., Ken (Joan) of Dartmouth, N.S. Niece, Wilma Kryshewsky of Brandon, Manitoba, as well as 12 grand nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a celebration of Edna’s life was held in the Miniota United Church with interment in the Miniota Cemetery April 2nd, 2011. Campbell Funeral Home, Hamiota, Manitoba was in care of arrangements.
