FARDOE: It is with heavy hearts the family announce the sudden passing of Ann Annie Fardoe, beloved wife of Bill and dear mother to Edwin, Laura and Kelly, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 79 on Sunday, April 10th, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, formerly of Little Souris District, south of Brandon, Manitoba. Mom was born at Kenaston, Saskatchewan on August 27th, 1931. She was the eldest child of Frank and Mary Klopan, who emigrated from Czechoslovakia and settled in the Kenaston area of Saskatchewan. Mom schooled there to grade five, until her mother took ill and she was required to stay home and help with the farm. Eventually her parents relocated to a farm in the Gladstone area and Mom came to Brandon to work for the Hargreaves Dairy farm, the Prince Edward Hotel and lastly the Brandon College. It was at this time she caught the eye of her future husband of 53 12 years at a dance at the Orange Hall in Brandon. Mom joined Dad farming after their marriage on June 15th, 1957. Their family soon expanded with Edwin born in 1958, Laura in 1961 and Kelly in 1967. Family and the farm was Moms life she always had a large garden, with plenty of veggies preserved, and was her pleasure to share with children and grandchildren. Flowers were something mom never had enough of, flowerbeds bloomed from early spring to late fall, and if the geraniums were still blooming (as they were each year) she brought them inside the house until spring arrived again. Her pride and joy were her peonies. Moms green thumb carried on inside her home, Christmas cactuses, spider plants, basically any green plant, recently she was starting lettuce. Mom and Dad enjoyed dancing together, many times being the first couple on the dance floor! Many happy memories dwell from shed parties, either ones they hosted or attended at neighbours. We will never know how she managed to accomplish so many duties, and never complained, always ensuring everyone was fed and looked after before herself. Mom and Dad were lifelong partners, not only in marriage, but also working, building and expanding their farm operation. Moms hard work ethic has migrated to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed calving season, helping if necessary many new lives each year. Harvest was another season she enjoyed, she could handle any combine or grain truck that needed a driver.Ann is survived by her beloved husband Bill, children Ed (Denise), Laura Bourns (Dean) and Kelly (Leanna), sister Martha (Hugh) Jameson, grandchildren Mandy Harvey (Brad) and great grandson Logan, Adam (Wendy), Eric (Stacy), Chase; Michelle Allison (Cody), Levi Ferguson and Tanner. Sister-in-law Beryl Fardoe, many nephews and nieces and their children were special to her during her life. Mom was predeceased by a younger brother Frank Klopan, her parents Mary and Frank Klopan, her mother-in-law andfather-in-law Edith and John Fardoe, brother-in-law Cecil Fardoe, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ellen and George Kaytor.
