WELLS. Aleck Kingsnorth Wells September 19, 1933- June 3, 2011. It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother Aleck Wells. Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years Helen, children Kelly (Judy), Brad (Brenda), Grant (Myrna), Susan (Harold) and Philip. Grandchildren include Danny, Brent, Candice, Courtney, Kirk, Erin, JoAnna and Fletcher. Great grandchildren McKenzie, Pressley, Jerron, and Lily. Brothers and sisters include Nona, Beth, Jim, John, Dawn, Charles and Francis. Aleck was predeceased by his parents John James and Ada and Brother Andy and Sister Joan. Aleck was born and raised and lived in the same house in Wellwood for 75 years. He received his education in Wellwood and then started farming. He got married and raised a family. He began as a mixed farmer and then joined with John Schneider and Bud Wardell to form Wellwood Growers and was among the first to start growing potatoes. He went back to grain farming at the passing of his two partners and continued to farm up to his 74th year. He took great pride in the farm. Aleck also enjoyed sports such as baseball, hockey and curling. Mom and Dad also enjoyed travelling and camping and explored most of Canada and then parked their trailer at Pelican Lake for the last few years. Due to his declining health, they moved to Carberry in 2009 and made many new friends. He always took great interest in what his family was doing and was proud of all their accomplishments .He was a kind, quiet, unassuming man with a hint of mischief who will be sadly missed. If friends so desire, donations can be made to Deer Lodge Foundation (on memo line write Movement Disorder) Address Movement Disorder Clinic, Deer Lodge Centre, 200 Woodlawn St, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3J2H7
