McMILLAN: Sharon Anne. With great sadness Sharon entered into rest suddenly at her home on March 21, 2011. Sharon Anne Smith was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan on August 13, 1946, to proud parents Bill and Edna Smith. She was raised on a little farm near Coderre, Saskatchewan. In her later teens her parents decided to spread their wings and settle on a farm near Kipling, Saskatchewan. After graduation, Sharon decided to take a secretarial course in Regina, not yet settled she thought she would give Brandon, Manitoba a try. Here she would meet and marry the love of her life Bill McMillan. The couple began their new life together near Douglas, Manitoba where their two children were born. Lisa Janet born October 18, 1973 and Charles Henry born December 22, 1975. Business opportunity brought the family to Kenton, Manitoba in 1983, where they would call home. Sharon became quickly involved in the community giving her many years of service the Kenton Legion, Woodworth Fire Department, Kenton Lions Club, and the Kenton Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She would also develop many life long friends in which she cherished. Sharon leaves a legacy of hard work ethics to her family, friends, and community. She would work at the butcher shop all day and moonlight as a bartender at the local Legion. She also catered for many years serving 8 people to 800 people at one time. Her delicious roast beef dinners were well known for miles, no one ever went hungry with her around. In her spare time, she also ran a daycare, she is known lovingly as Nana to many local children. Sharon would work tiressly behind the scenes never wanting or needing any recognition. She was a genuine lady with a huge heart, always devoted to her family, friends and community. Sharon was predeceased by her father Bill Smith, and in-laws Bruce and Dorothy McMillan. To cherish her memory mother Edna Smith, loving husband Bill, daughter Lisa (Dennis), son Charlie, sister-in-law Valerie McMillan, grandchildren Jaden and Brett Hemrica, any many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
