OSBORNE: Stanley Francis Osborne of Newdale, Manitoba passed away suddenly on July 25, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, at the age of 82 years. Stan was born to Jack and Katie Osborne on August 25, 1928 at his aunts home in the Mount Calm District near Newdale. He grew up on the family farm and attended school at Mount Calm and finished high school in Newdale. He worked in Oakburn for a short time and then came back to Newdale in 1952 to work for Merclin Motors as a mechanic. He went to work for S. H. Dayton Ltd John Deere dealership in 1961 as a mechanic and was promoted to service manager when they moved to Shoal Lake. He worked for them for 33 years until he retired in 1994. As well as working full time Stan also worked the family farm with his father and then with his sons Gerry, Pat and Blaine. Pat took over the farm but Stan still kept his hand in, working on the farm right up until he died. He married Marjorie Elaine Reid April 2, 1955 and they raised five children. Stan was predeceased by his father Jack, his mother Katie and his brother-in-law Wilfred Eastcott. Surviving are his wife Marj, sons, Gerry (Sandy), Pat and Blaine. Daughters, Cathy Cluett and Bev (Clayton) Currah and nine grandchildren, Brett (Tawney), Shane (Sara), Courtney (Sean), Jasmine, Stephanie, Mike (Nici), Josh (Lindsey), Kirsten (Rick) and Jared and four great-grandchildren, Ivey, Maddie, Ryan and Lila. Also surviving are his sister Jean Eastcott and brother-in-law Jerry Reid. The funeral service was held July 29, 2011 from Newdale United Church with Pastor Orland Usick officiating. Interment will be at a later date. All in attendance were considered Honorary Pallbearers. Minnedosa Funeral Service was in care of arrangements.
